We've started our first IVF cycle and all we got was this tub of meds. But seriously - really? This doesn't even include the five boxes in my fridge. It's all incredibly overwhelming, but also exciting. Here's a quick status check on where we are:
- Education Day = Complete (This is when the nurse walks you through the medication protocol and answers questions).
- Initial Bloodwork = Complete (Tested us both for STDs and other stuff. As an added bonus, we learned fate through in an underactive thyroid so more meds. YAY!)
- Aunt Flo = Complete (First time since college that I've been happy to see that old hag).
- Birth Control Pills = Complete (We did 16 days of pills. Weirdest experience so far is taking birth control with a prenatal vitamin chaser).
- Baseline Scan = Complete (Everything is dormant and ready to go).
- Injections = I'm on needle/death row. These start Thursday, so I'm a stuck woman walking. Gulp!
I'll keep you posted with all the prickly details. (sorry - I'm done with the pins . . . I mean puns)
